Method 1: TubeOffline.com
TubeOffline is an excellent free website that allows you to download videos from many different sites. You can check the supported site list here:
The site supports hundreds of online sources. For YouTube, you go straight to this page
Enter the URL of the video and click the GET video button.
On the next page, you will have an option to download audio or video and the format of the file. Click on the Download button after you’ve done your selections.
Method 2: yts5.com
This site is focused on YouTube and allows to download MP3 or MP4 formats. Just enter the URL and click Start.
On the next page, you will have an option to choose the resolution. Click the Get link button to proceed to the final step, which is where you have the Download button.
Method 3: yt-dlp
This is more for the techies as it’s a command-line tool. Still, it’s fairly easy to install as it comes with installers for all platforms.
It’s especially easy on macOS and Linux as it can be installed using Homebrew:
brew install yt-dlp/taps/yt-dlp
It has lots of options, but the most straightforward way is open a terminal and run
yt-dlp {URL}
To customize it further, you can view the options by running the following command:
yt-dlp --help
